I’m not especially interested in being described as a person who likes practical technology. That isn’t where the motivation begins for me.
I’m interested in bringing vision to reality.
The idea might be something someone says can’t be done. It might be something no one has thought of yet. The appeal is in imagining what could exist, then taking on the work of making it real.
That is what I mean when I say I’m motivated by doubt.
Since founding my company in 1995, I’ve worked on document workflows, online forms, transaction platforms and marketing systems. There isn’t one product name that captures the whole of that history. The names change. The impulse behind the work connects them.
I want this site to make room for that larger story: the ideas before they had names, the people involved in building them, and the questions that are still open.
TheGenie is a collection of innovations. It is also the latest chapter of a story that began long before it.
There is room for another chapter.
